Saltwater Barn This early 20th century fishermen’s barn is located on a saltwater marsh facing a sandy cove. Its owner wanted to use it as a guest cottage. However, its rehabilitation required considerable work, as it had begun to sink into the marsh. Piles were driven into the humus sixty feet before hitting bedrock. Once stabilized, the barn and its interiors were redesigned using traditional details. Saltwater Barn The barn was elevated during the pile driving and construction of its new foundation.
